Introduction

Every country on the map started the same way you did — with a small territory and big ambitions. What separates the player holding the crown from everyone else is how fast they build, how smart they trade, and when they decide to launch the missile.

Open Front IO is a real-time IO strategy battle game where territory expansion, economic building, alliance management, and military force all feed into one another. Build cities to grow your population. Connect them with factories and ports to generate passive income. Form alliances to share resources and troops. Then decide — when does diplomacy end and the atom bomb begin?

Fun Fact: Factories in Open Front IO connect cities and ports through train networks that automatically generate passive income — and that income increases when you are actively trading with allies, making your economic relationships directly tied to your military budget.

Buildings That Build Your Empire

City Increases your maximum population — essential when territory expansion slows down or you approach the population cap.

Defense Post Strengthens borders in nearby areas with a checkered pattern. Enemy attacks slow down and take heavier casualties against defended borders.

Port Must be built near water. Enables Warship construction and automatically sends trade ships between your ports and allied ports, generating gold for both sides. Trade pauses during conflict and resumes after 5 minutes or when alliances are restored.

Factory Connects cities and ports via railroad networks. Trains run the routes regularly and deliver gold for every building they visit — including allied buildings, which earn bonus income.

Warship Spawns from your nearest Port and patrols a designated area. Captures enemy trade ships and destroys Boats. Control Warships by attack-clicking them and directing them to a new patrol zone.

Missile Silo Enables missile launches against enemy territories and buildings.

SAM Launcher Intercepts incoming missiles within a 100-pixel range — your defensive answer to enemy Missile Silos.

Control Panel Breakdown

Your control panel tracks two critical resources in real time:

  • Gold — Your current amount and the rate you are earning it per second

  • Attack Ratio — Controls what percentage of your troops commit to each attack. Higher ratios mean fewer losses on your side. Lower ratios deal more damage to your own attacking force. The effect caps at 2:1
